In April, Macon hosts the Pan-African Festival which features parades, performances of African and Caribbean musical performances, African dancing, films, food festivals, cultural shows and exhibitions.

The ten-day long International Cherry Blossom Festival in mid-March is Macon’s largest annual event. The city is home to upwards of 275,000 Yoshino Cherry trees – more than any other city in the world. When they are at the height of their bloom during the festival, the entire city is bathed in a delicate pink color and the even more delicate fragrance of the blossoms. The celebrations include concerts, food festivals, arts and crafts shows, parades, street markets, picnics, dances, and art exhibitions. The International Cherry Blossom Festival has long been listed among the Top 20 events in the South, the Top 50 events in the U.S., and the Top 100 events in North America.
